Capture Card
Osprey Video of Carrollton, Texas, announced the launch of the Osprey 840e video capture card, which features four independent, highly configurable input channels. Each input can accept video in three different formats—SD-SDI, HD-SDI, and DVB-ASI MPTS/SPTS—along with four stereo pairs of embedded SDI audio. All inputs are clock-independent, so each of them can ingest a different format. The card comes standard with Osprey SimulStream, a feature that allows each input to produce multiple parallel output streams with completely independent settings for color space, cropping, scaling, closed captions, and overlays, enabling simultaneous delivery to multiple applications.

Multisensor Cameras
Two new multisensory panoramic cameras are available from Axis Communications of Lund, Sweden. The 8-megapixel AXIS P3707-PE uses four varifocal camera heads to provide 360-degree coverage or a combination of an overview and zoomed-in views in four directions. The four cameras can be repositioned along a circular track, with each camera head tilted and adjusted for a wide variety of views. Video streams are individually configurable. The 15-megapixel AXIS Q3708-PVE has three image sensors for 180-degree surveillance, plus technologies for handling challenging lighting conditions. Lenses are factory focused, so installers are not required to focus them. Both cameras support power over Ethernet and Axis Zipstream technology for reduced bandwidth and storage requirements.

Vehicle Barrier
The HydraWedge SM50 Vehicle Barrier from HySecurity of Kent, Washington, is a wedge barrier that communicates potential and actual perimeter breach conditions to security responders in real time, giving them the intelligence necessary to prevent and mitigate a perimeter breach. The barrier’s normal actuation time is 3 seconds; in Emergency Fast Operate mode, it activates in 1 second or less. It can be used in conjunction with the company’s HySecurity gates, which detect and send security alerts when a suspicious vehicle parks for more than 5 minutes outside an access control point, when a barrier ahead of the wedge is hit by a vehicle or forcibly opened, and more.

Mobile Light Tower
Larson Electronics of Kemp, Texas, released a towable, self-contained, metal halide floodlight tower equipped with a generator. The WCDE-7.5K-4X1000W-MLK mobile light tower produces enough light to illuminate up to five acres. A water-cooled diesel engine powers an 8.1-kilowatt Marathon generator to supply current to the four 1,000-watt metal halide lamps, producing 440,000 lumens of light. Each light is fastened to the light boom, and each lamp includes a support bracket for stability. The IP67-rated construction resists dust, dirt, and humidity. The telescoping tower reaches 25 feet when fully deployed and folds to 8 feet for transport. It is ideal for remote locations and emergency sites.
