Intelligent Cameras
AUTODOME IP pan-tilt-zoom cameras from Bosch Security Systems, Inc., of Fairport, New York, enable users to keep track of persons of interest as they move beyond a camera's field of view. The cameras now add metadata to all captured video images, which can be used to improve security by automatically alerting users once predefined criteria are met. Their built-in Essential Video Analytics enable the cameras to understand images. Metadata adds sense and structure to the video footage—instead of just capturing and storing video images—and it delivers information like size, speed, shape, direction, and color.

Ethernet Switch
Transitioning from analog to IP security networks can be tricky. While many CCTV systems have moved to IP, some access control, intrusion, and detection systems need to remain in the analog domain. AMG Systems of Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, United Kingdom, offers a Multi-Service Ethernet Switch (MSES) that can simplify the legacy upgrade process. MSES is a hybrid technology that combines managed Ethernet switch functionality with fully integrated data and contacts communication, so non-IP devices can be easily connected directly to an IP network, without additional hardware, converters, and power supplies. Optimized for security applications, the MSES supports low- and high-speed data, RS232 and RS485, FTT-10, I/O, alarm contacts, and audio.
